Investment in flying training is a major decision for individuals and their families. Many candidates have to take a loan to pay for flight training. Before you study to be a pilot aptitude testing assists candidates in conducting 'due diligence' in deciding future career choices. Sound results build confidence and enhance motivation for choosing a career as a professional pilot.
Griffith University uses the proven COMPASS © computer based pilot aptitude testing system and the Checklist Professional Profile © personality inventory system. These comprise a battery of tests that allows individuals to assess their suitability and aptitude for becoming a pilot and are used by commercial airlines, the military and other aircraft operators worldwide. Comprehensive results are printed in an easy to understand format and many candidates include them with cadetship and employment applications, résumés etc.
Aptitude tests and pilot tests alone are not an absolute predictor of success or failure in pilot training. However, they represent a cost-effective way of indicating basic pilot aptitude. Well over 20,000 candidates have undertaken the COMPASS © test battery and continuous improvements to the system have resulted in very high levels of correlation with success in flight training.
While some aspects of pilot aptitude are innate, certain aspects can be improved with practice. Candidates receive positive feedback on areas that can be potentially improved.
Tests are available to individuals and we welcome enquiries from companies seeking assistance in pilot selection and recruitment processes.
